Shortly before the official start of sales, the full specifications of the PS5 Pro were leaked. We’ll tell you here how the more powerful console compares to the normal PS5.
In the new week, the more powerful PlayStation 5 Pro from Sony will be released on November 7th, 2024, but it will also have a decent price tag. But what exactly do you get for your money? This question can now be answered, because thanks to a leak, the complete specifications have now reached the internet in advance.
Twitter user brunno_fast apparently got his hands on the PS5 Pro before it went on sale and took a photo of the specifications. Even an unboxing video has already made its way online. The full technical details of the new console read as follows:
- CPU – x86-64-AMD Ryzen Zen 2 8-core / 16-thread
- GPU – unspecified RDNA GPU with 16.7 TFLOPS
- RAM – GDDR6 16 GB (for graphics) + DDR5 2 GB (for operations)
- Power Supply – 390W
- Storage – 2TB SSD
If you compare this equipment with the regular PS5, what stands out is the 16.7 TFLOPS compared to the 10 TFLOPS of the normal Sony home console. Otherwise, the PS5 Pro with a 2TB SSD has a significantly larger hard drive than the normal PS5 with 825GB, there is 2 GB more DDR5 RAM and WiFi 7 support is also coming into focus. An additional USB-C port replaces a USB-A port on the normal console, but with 390W power consumption it also consumes more power than the PS5 with a maximum of 350W.
According to Sony, the new hardware will render up to 45 percent faster than the PS5, and even 2-3x faster with ray tracing.
