Keeper’s Vault Puzzle Solution 1
To solve the first Warden Vault puzzle, you must light three torches in the correct order, interact with the level on the top floor of Warden’s Castle, then hit the switch inside the small room to open the first lock.
The three torches are located in a small path down some stairs south of the fast travel beacon found just outside the main Keeper’s Castle area.
If you haven’t touched them yet, the correct solution to the torch puzzle is:
- Middle Torch
- Left torch
- Straight torch
- Middle Torch
If you’ve touched them, just keep flicking the switches until all three flames light up at once.
After lighting the torches, go up the stairs further south, use Davrin’s ability (or Rook’s lyrium dagger) to lower the wooden pallet, then ride the pallet up to the top floor of the Guardian’s Castle. Next, activate the lever next to the small metal door and go inside to open the first lock on the guards’ safe.
It’s also a good idea to activate the lever outside this room, to raise the main door to the Keeper’s Keep, so you don’t have to take that path every time you want to go inside .
Solution 2 of the Warden Vault puzzle
To solve the second Warden Vault puzzle, you need to go to the outer area of Castle Bailey, just outside the south side of Warden Castle, then look west and use Taash’s ability (or Rook’s lyrium dagger) to destroy the red pot and lower a ladder.
Next, climb the ladder and collect the Wisp at the top, then quickly return through the south gate of the Keeper’s Castle and immediately take a left. Head past the training dummies and up the stairs in the back, where the wisp will automatically return to its position and open the door that leads to the small room where you can open the second lock on the guard’s safe.
Keeper’s Vault Puzzle Solution 3
This is the trickiest stage of the side quest, because to solve the third and final Warden Vault puzzle, you need to find four spirits in and around the Warden Castle in the correct order.
Here’s where to find all the spirits in the Guardians’ Castle:
Spirit Location 1
The first spirit is located in the small corridor between the north and south sides of the Keeper’s Castle, near a tomb on the ground. Examine the grave to move the spirit, then move on to the next location.
Spirit Location 2
The second spirit is located in an alcove opposite the wooden pallet you originally used to enter the Guardian’s Castle. Examine the skeleton to free the spirit and move on to the third location.
Spirit Location 3
The third spirit can be found on the path just outside the main northern entrance to the Warden’s Castle, near the fast travel beacon. Once again, you must investigate to free the spirit before you can move on to the final location.
Spirit Location 4
The fourth and final spirit can be found in the southern corner of the main room of Warden’s Castle, just south of where the stairs are that lead to the vault.
Enter the spirit to make it go through the wall and reveal the location of the last lock. If this is the last puzzle you solved, you can now head to the Guardian’s Vault downstairs to get your rewards.
