Zelda: Breath of the Wild composer has left Nintendo

Breath, composer, left, Nintendo, Wild, Zelda

The soundtrack to the critically acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is truly magical, so it’s sad to hear today that the game’s composer, Yasuaki Iwata, has made a belated announcement about his departure from the Kyoto-based company. Yasuaki Iwata left the company in July 2023 and took over the leadership of another company.

I have a little belated announcement to share. Last July, I took a step in a new direction by leaving my position at Nintendo. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported me over the years, to those who have enjoyed my work and to everyone who has listened to music through the projects I have been involved in. Since my departure I have been working on new projects and I hope to have the opportunity to share some of them with you in the near future. If there are those who would like to continue following my journey, I would really appreciate it and hope you can’t wait for what’s to come. Thank you so much for your continued support!
