Star Citizen wants to be an MMO. However, one of the most important features for this – the creation of a group – was previously very difficult to use. Already with Alpha 3.9 this should be much easier and like in other games very simple with just a few clicks function.
This is how you play with your friends from Alpha 3.9
With the next version, the developer Cloud Imperium Games is reworking the entire party window. It also makes it easier to join other players on a particular server. In the official blog post, the team mentioned overall four important points
- You can join a friend's session by right-clicking in the contact list
- The contact list will show which Star Citizen module your friends are playing
- You can also see if they are currently available for a group game or not
- With a "Join Leader" button you can join another player's server
The studio states that the revision will be a little rough at the beginning. Accordingly, they are increasingly interested in after the release of Alpha 3.9 Player feedback on the revision of the group function.

This is how thousands of people in Star Citizen have their own fun
How do you add friends right now?
First of all, you need to add a friend to your contact list via the official Star Citizen website. This will not change after the revision.
- Log in to robertsspaceindustries.com
- Now click on "Account", look for your friend
- Select it from the list and confirm with the "Follow" button
The group game, however, is currently a bit more complex. Already in the main menu of Star Citizen you have to open the contact list and join your friend's session. In the game itself, however, you have two ways to start a party:
- If you see your friend in the game world, you can invite him with the »Inner Thoughts Menu«
- Alternatively, you open the Commlink with F11 and add the player to your group here

Pyro is also making progress
In addition to the feature mentioned, work on the next star system called Pyro is also progressing. Here you are currently working on the first two planetsthat are fundamentally different from those in the current Stanton system. In addition to new vegetation, you will be able to explore previously unseen landscapes and terrain.
The focus is also on performance. In addition to improvements in memory performance, a number of physics calculations are now performed in parallel. They also worked on a better implementation of the Vulkan API.
Alpha 3.9 will also introduce another feature: weapon customizations in the style of Crysis. This function is currently being tested on the PTR by a small group of players called Evocati.
