Ahead of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake’s arrival next week, Square Enix has shared guidelines for streaming in Japan for anyone planning to upload the game or footage to the internet.

While you can upload images and videos of the title to social media and streaming platforms for “non-commercial” purposes, Square Enix asks players to include spoiler warnings for all major plot details. Additionally, you are not allowed to share the end or the end after the end to after December 13, 2024 (via Siliconera).

“When streaming scenes that are closely related to the game’s scenario, please voluntarily mark them as “contains spoilers” so as not to spoil the enjoyment of those who will play the game.

“Please refrain from live streaming the ending and post-game after the final battle until December 13, 2024. Please refrain from posting videos or images”

Players are also prohibited from posting videos or creating playlists that are created or edited for the sole purpose of showing cutscenes or music, without showing “normal gameplay” in between.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen guidelines like this, with companies like Atlus, Koei Tecmo, and Arc System Works also enforcing strict rules before releasing certain games. Although Dragon Quest III HD–2D Remake reinvents the classic RPG, it was originally released in 1988.
