The time has come: the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 smartphones are here. The three devices differ in many ways – we will explain to you where the differences lie in detail.

Redmi Note 14 vs. Note 14 Pro vs. Note 14 Pro+: This is how the Xiaomi phones differ
  • Xiaomi recently introduced the Redmi Note 14, Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+.
  • While the two Pro models are very similar, there are some differences from the cheaper basic model.
  • You have to expect, among other things, a slower processor, less memory and a weaker battery.

The Redmi Note 13 series has had its day for Xiaomi. In China, the company has introduced the Redmi Note 14 series. In the Middle Kingdom it consists of three models: the Redmi Note 14, the Note 14 Pro and the Note 14 Pro+. We explain here exactly how the three new models differ from each other.

Size and weight

You can notice small differences between the three devices at first glance – not only in the design, where the back is particularly noticeable, but also in the size. None of the three models are identical in construction, so we are dealing with three different dimensions.

The Redmi Note 14 is the largest and slimmest of the three models and measures 162.4 x 75.7 x 8 millimeters. The dimensions of the Redmi Note 14 Pro are 162.3 x 74.4 x 82 millimeters, and the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is 162.5 x 74.7 x 8.7 millimeters. Both the Redmi Note 14 and the Note 14 Pro weigh around 190 grams, the Pro+ model weighs around 211 grams.

Display

All three devices come with a 6.67-inch OLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hertz, but the remaining specifications differ. The display of the Redmi Note 14 has a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and therefore has a pixel density of around 395 ppi, and the peak brightness is 2,100 nits.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro and Note 14+, on the other hand, have up to 3,000 nits and the display has a higher resolution of 2,712 x 1,220 pixels. In addition, the displays of the two Pro models come with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while the cheaper Redmi Note 14 uses older Gorilla Glass 5.

Processor and memory

Three different smartphones, three different processors: The Redmi Note 14 comes with a Dimensity 7025 Ultra, which is manufactured by MediaTek using the 6nm process. The Note 14 Pro uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra manufactured using the 4nm process, and Xiaomi uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 manufactured using the same process in the Note 14 Pro+. The Snapdragon processor is the most powerful and the Dimensity is the weakest 7025 Ultra of the affordable Redmi Note 14.

The RAM sizes with which the three smartphones are available also differ. The Redmi Note 14 and Note 14 Pro are available with six, eight or twelve gigabytes of RAM, while the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is also available with 16 GB of RAM. Similar to the internal storage: The Redmi Note 14 is available with 128 or 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage, the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+ also with 512 GB.

Battery and charging

Three different batteries are also installed in the three smartphones. Xiaomi integrated a 5,110 milliampere-hour lithium-ion cell in the Redmi Note 14, and 5,500 milliampere-hours in the Redmi Note 14 Pro. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+, on the other hand, uses a whopping 6,200 milliamp hour silicon-carbon cell, which enables a longer service life and faster charging than conventional lithium batteries.

The batteries of the two cheaper models can be charged with a maximum of 45 watts, while the charging power of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ reaches a full 90 watts. However, none of the three models can be charged wirelessly.

Camera

Further differences can be found in the cameras. Xiaomi has installed two cameras on the back of the Redmi Note 14, namely a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The Redmi Note 14 Pro uses the same main and ultra-wide-angle camera, but there is also a macro camera installed that has a resolution of 2 megapixels.

Finally, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ uses a better, but still 50-megapixel main camera and the same 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and on top of that there is a 50-megapixel telephoto camera that enables a 2.5x optical zoom . The front camera on the Redmi Note 14 has a resolution of 16 megapixels, while the other two models have 20 megapixels.

Other differences

  • The Redmi Note 14 only supports WiFi 5, while the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+ also support WiFi 6.
  • The two more expensive models are protected against water according to IP69K specifications, but the Redmi Note 14 only achieves IP64.
  • All three devices are available in black, white and green, but the Redmi Note 14 Pro is also available in purple.

The devices are currently only available in China; they will probably appear in Germany around the turn of the year.
