You might think that the PS5 Pro’s astronomically high price point might have an impact on sales, but as it turns out, that’s not the case.

When the PS5 Pro launched in September, I was honestly a little surprised at its price — $700? Did you laugh? I know I’m not going to get one anyway, especially since I don’t care enough about graphics or frame rates and other such nonsense to justify such an expense, but I still think this might put enough people away from buying it one. There’s no concrete way to tell whether more people would buy it if it were cheaper, but as Genki_JPN shared on Twitter, Sony president Hiroki Totoki shared the news during a recent livestreamed investor call that pricing has yet to be determined. Have a “negative impact” on console sales.

“Hardcore users are the target users of this hardware,” Totoki said during the livestream. “As far as pricing goes, a lot of people have made mixed comments about it, but I don’t think the pricing of the PS5 Pro has had a negative impact.” Of course, it’s still early days, as the console has actually just come out. Interestingly, it’s actually not that hard to get one. In fact, it’s so easy to get one that, in some cases, scalpers have reportedly had to sell the units they picked up at a loss, which is great because I always love seeing scalpers make a complete fool of themselves. On top of that, the fact that it’s in stock is interesting because the PS5 was notoriously difficult to get in the early days, but demand for the Pro was never going to be that high regardless.

Our Dom recently got his hands on a PS5 Pro and was kind enough to share a bunch of surprising things about the console that you might find useful if you’re considering buying one.
