Remember when Overwatch was a simpler, less complex game? Well, it seems Blizzard Entertainment has listened to fans who miss the original gaming experience. From today November 12 until December 2 Overwatch 2 will feature a limited-time event called Overwatch: Classic.

This event is not a separate game, but rather a way to relive the original Overwatch experience in Overwatch 2.

It’s time to play like the beginning of time

It will be available in Events Hub and Arcade mode and will allow players to play as the 21 original heroes in their original forms. This means that You can play with Mercy’s classic resurrection, or with Bastion in turret mode, without moving from your position.

The first few days of the event will have no hero or role limits, meaning you can play as any hero you want without restrictions. However, after the first few days, single-hero limits will apply, meaning you will only be able to play with one hero at a time. This is part of Blizzard’s commitment to the original Overwatch experience. In addition, The four original roles (Defense, Offensive, Tanks and Supports) will be present at the event. This is a significant change from how Overwatch 2 is currently played, where roles are more flexible and not as defined.

It is important to keep in mind that This event isn’t exactly like the original Overwatch launch in 2016. Although all 12 original cards are present, any overhauls made to the game will still apply. Additionally, you won’t be able to equip skins other than the default ones, and features like loot boxes and the original competitive mode won’t be available.
