Fan Edition (FE) models have been present among Samsung’s Galaxy S series phones for several years.
This is a slightly cheaper variant, combining the features of a flagship phone with a price almost similar to the best mid-range phones.
The lineup could be about to expand, however, with reports indicating that the Korean giant could introduce the FE model of one of its foldable phones.
But what would such a device have to offer? Here’s everything we know about it at the moment.
When will the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE be released?
At this summer’s Galaxy Unpacked event, although expected, the Galaxy Z Flip FE was notably absent. The devices shown were only the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Watch Ultra.
However, no rumors have emerged regarding the cancellation of this phone, which is not the case with the Galaxy Z Fold FE. According to a report from SamMobile, Samsung has no plans to release a cheaper Galaxy Z Fold.
So we expect Samsung to still be working on the Galaxy Z Flip FE.

As this will be the first flip phone in the FE series, we don’t have a timetable for its release. Fan Edition models usually appear a few months after the release of the original device.
According to a recent rumor out of China (via GSMArena), the new FE foldable phone could debut alongside the upcoming Galaxy S25 Slim sometime this month. April 2025.
The device could also launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold, both of which are expected to be revealed in July 2025.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE cost?
We don’t have any official information on the price of the Galaxy Z Flip FE. However, we expect it to be priced cheaper than last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the recent Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Here are the starting prices of previous Galaxy Z Flip phones at launch:
What specs and features will the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE have?
So far, there haven’t been many leaks or rumors regarding the Galaxy Z Flip FE.
A report on Chinese site MyDrivers has some details on what we might see, but we advise you to take them with a grain of salt.
Design
The leak claims that the phone, when unfolded, will measure 165.2 x 71.9 x 6.9mm. It’s exactly the same as the Z Flip 5, so we expect it to also measure 85.1 x 71.9 x 15.1mm when folded.

Other than that, we don’t know much more about the design, although it probably falls somewhere between the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.
It’s possible that the phone will have the exact same body as last year’s model, but the external display may be carried over from the Z Flip 4.
The FE model needs to stand out from its more powerful counterpart, so it could be that it gets a smaller external display in addition to weaker components.
Display
As a reminder, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 introduced a brand new, larger external screen, which offers many more features than that of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and its predecessors.
If the leaked dimensions are correct, it looks like the interior display will also be the same size as the Galaxy Z Flip 5, measuring 6.7 inches diagonally. Likewise, the cover screen could be a 3.4-inch panel.

Alternatively, it could be the Z Flip 4’s 1.9-inch cover display.
Performance
Early rumors coming out of China say that the Galaxy Z Flip FE could be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
It could also be powered by an Exynos chip, as is often the case with Samsung models in Europe. In fact, according to Jukanlosreve, it will run on Exynos 2400.
However, by the time the FE arrives, this chipset will be a year old.
In terms of RAM, we’re looking at a single 8GB version, paired with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of internal storage.
Cameras
According to rumors, the Z Flip 6 prototype would have a main lens of 50 Mp, compared to 12 Mp for the Z Flip 5.
If true, this could mean that the Z Flip FE will retain the 12MP primary shooter from the Z Flip 5. The rest of the setup could be the same, including a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a rear camera. 10 Mp selfie.
Samsung
Battery and charging
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a 3,700 mAh cell that provides solid battery life. The same is expected to be the case in the Z Flip 6 and the FE variant will likely feature this cell as well.
We don’t expect it to support charging speeds higher than 25W. If Samsung decides to include them, it could also offer 15W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. W.
Software
The Z Flip FE is expected to run Samsung’s One UI 7 based on Android 15, likely including features exclusive to the Z Flip 6 or Z Flip 5 and Galaxy AI.
