Turtle Rock Studios’ Back 4 Blood could apparently get a sequel; Corresponding indications seem to be accumulating.
In autumn 2021, the development studio Turtle Rock Studios released Back 4 Blood, a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead. Several former developers of this action game had formed up at Turtle Rock to continue with the zombie theme in Back 4 Blood. Now this title could possibly get a sequel.
The studio had already emphasized in February 2023 that they were putting further development on the first Back 4 Blood on hold and did not want to deliver any further content. Reason: The studio is devoting itself to a completely new project, but no specific details have been released yet.
There is now a good chance that this is actually Back 4 Blood 2. This is what an actor’s entry in the overview of their activities suggests. This refers to Jesse Hutch, who took part in the first Back 4 Blood. Now he states in his exposé that he also took part in motion capture recordings for “Gobi 2”.
How can the connection to Back 4 Blood be established? It’s simple: The first part was developed under the code name “Gobi”, which means that “Gobi 2” is probably the sequel to Back 4 Blood. It also fits that the development studio registered the internet address back4blood2.com in May 2023.
So the only question that remains is: When can we expect an official announcement and how long will it take for the sequel to be released? We will keep you up to date on this as usual!
