The Lapras EX event for Pokemon TCG Pocket has ended. The last packages have been distributed, Lapras has flown freely and won tickets to many stores. But for those who have amassed a large collection of Event Hourglasses, the big remaining question is clear: Will they carry over to future PvE events?
As noted on the Pokemon Pocket Reddit, these hourglasses are not being ripped from players’ inventories. This means, although not entirely confirmed, that they will be used in the upcoming event. If this is true, it’s good news for those of you who have saved up a bunch of activity hourglasses just in case.

Why would you want extra hourglasses like this? Well, while you certainly don’t need them to get all the promo cards in the next event (unless you’re extremely unlucky), it allows you to max out your talent for future cards in the event. Maybe Lapras isn’t your jam! It’s definitely not mine. But if a hypothetical Metagross event popped up, I could burn a bunch of event hourglasses in exchange for an extra shiny hourglass.
However, for most players, these hourglasses will be useful in the upcoming Bulbasaur event, and people have already mined the data from the game. This appears to be happening later this year, in late November/December. Bulbasaur is a very popular Pokémon, so it’s not hard to foresee people burning their hourglasses on this big guy. That is, if the data mining is accurate. Who knows, maybe it will be something completely different. Either way, this is a great hourglass spending opportunity.
