A recent update has now added Ghostface from the Scream movies to Mortal Kombat 1.
Ghostface is part of the Kombat Pack 2 DLC, and can be obtained through the Khaos Reigns expansion or purchased individually for $7.99 / your regional equivalent.
The update also includes a few fixes for the Nintendo Switch version and a bunch of improvements overall:

- Fixed an issue that sometimes allowed deaths to occur out of range
- Fixed issues with some grunt sounds not playing during several moves
- Fixed an issue with not being able to block the same frame while the opponent activates Fatal Blow
- Adjusted attack roll animation for all characters when performing with their backs to the camera
- Throws no longer remove armor
- Fixed visual issues with several characters Throw Escapes online if a rollback occurs
- Fixed visual issues when characters are hit while very high in the air
