It took a while after the shutdown caused by Nokia’s demand in Europe, but we can finally enjoy OPPO’s most premium mobile phones on the continent. The first to land showing his muscles is the OPPO Find X8 Proa new generation which manages to deserve its place on the podium in 2024. And it has solid arguments to achieve this.

We missed the good work of OPPO in the highest category of smartphones, it is not in vain that the OPPO Find ‘abroad. Even though it’s over: not only is the new model sold within our borders, but we have already been able to get our hands on it. The OPPO Find X8 Pro will stand up to all those that came before it.

Double periscopic telephoto lens and additional dedicated camera button

It’s not that the buttons for launching the camera app are new, Sony has had them on the Xperia for years. Despite everything, it was clear that the appearance of camera control on the iPhone 16 would cause a renaissance of this hardware element. The OPPO Find X8 Pro is an example. Even if the place of the button does not seem the most appropriate: Quick buttoncapacitive, is located on the right side and below the power button.

The design maintains high quality materials with an aluminum body, very smooth edges and double-sided glass. High-end look, generous size and IP68/IP69+ certification against dust and water. The fact that the edges are not marked is a clear advantage in terms of the ergonomics of the phone.

Opposite, the OPPO Find X8 Pro benefits from an excellent 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a maximum localized brightness that reaches 4,500 nits. Up to 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, under-panel fingerprint reader, and top punch-hole for the 32-megapixel front camera.

Despite the Pro name, and although it is a premium range whatever the point of view, OPPO preferred to trust MediaTek for the Find X8 Pro (will it leave a Snapdragon 8 Elite for the possible OPPO Find X8 ultra?). The chip chosen is the MediaTek Dimensity 9400, an SoC manufactured in 3 nm, octacore and equipped with an Inmortalis-G925 GPU suitable for 3D graphics with ray tracing. This SoC is accompanied by 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

It’s time to enter the world of photography with rear cameras. Nothing more than four, a combination with 50 megapixel sensors that combines a main Sony LYT-808 with mechanical stabilization, the corresponding wide angle and a double telephoto lens that bets on periscopic objective in both. One of them is a Sony LYT-600 which is intended to be bright (3x zoom); and a more austere Sony IMX858 with 6x zoom. Both offer OIS.

Batteries significantly increase their capacity in the high range. And the OPPO Find X8 Pro is no exception: it has a 5,910 mAh battery. Without losing high-power fast charging: 80W via cable and 50W via wireless charging. Additionally, the OPPO Find

The mobile phone is now available in Europe, comes in two colors (black and white) and costs 1,249 dollars. Of course, there is an introductory offer: until December 8, OPPO is offering a pack including an OPPO Watch X, a fast charger and a case. The price of the set is 367.90 dollars.
