The long-awaited iPhone SE 4 is about to become a reality. Barclays has just confirmed what many of us have been waiting for: the launch is planned in the coming months. Barclays reveals iPhone SE 4 launch date after Asian tour
Tom O’Malley is an analyst at Barclays and his team recently traveled to Asia to meet manufacturers and suppliers electronics. In their report they claim to have “confirmed” that the fourth generation of the iPhone SE will be launched at the end of the first quarter of next year, i.e. in March. This timeline coincides with previous rumors and follows the current model, presented in March 2022.
The strong point of this iPhone SE 4 is that it will integrate the first 5G modem designed by Apple itselfa crucial step in the company’s strategy to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm. Something we will also see in the new iPhone 17 next September.

The iPhone SE 4 has everything to be a revolution in Apple’s mid-range. And surely will also attract many other Android users. Among the rumored features, we find:
- Similar design to the base iPhone 14
- 6.1-inch OLED display
- Face ID
- Chip A18
- USB-C port
- A 48 megapixel rear camera
- 8 GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence
- Apple 5G modem
The most surprising thing is that all of this is expected to cost $499, which translates to In dollars it would be around 579. A price that represents almost half that of the iPhone 16, with very similar characteristics, especially in terms of the chip.
Apple’s 5G modem: the jewel of the iPhone SE 4
The move towards its own 5G modem is the result of years of development that began in 2018 after the purchase of Intel’s modem division. Even though Apple has expanded its agreement with Qualcomm until 2026the iPhone SE 4 will be the first to integrate this proprietary technology.
It remains to be seen whether this modem will offer tangible benefits to the user, such as increased speed or energy efficiency. What is clear is that mark a before and an after in Apple’s technological independence. And given the trend of Apple Silicon, expectations are very high.
In just four months, we will have in our hands the fruit of years of development and investment by Apple. The iPhone SE 4 will be that device that combines Apple technology at a more affordable price. And March will be the month to find out. Many reports already mention this date.
