Ahead of its release scheduled for December 10th, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered features a new nostalgic gameplay trailer.

25 years after the release of the first Soul Reaver, the Legacy of Kain series returns from the dead with a remaster of two Raziel adventures. Announced at the end of September, this collection will be released on December 10th on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch. While we wait for this dive into darkness and nostalgia, the collection presents a new trailer that showcases a little more gameplay.

A big comeback for Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver?

After shaping his world in 1999 and 2001 with Soul Reaver 1 and 2 respectively, putting us in the shoes of a vampire turned ghost, Raziel is preparing for a major comeback. This double sequel to Blood Omen Legacy of Kain is eligible for a full remaster on all platforms on December 10th. The studio at the forefront of this resurgence is none other than Aspyr, to whom we already owe Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered.

On the agenda for this revival of Legacy of Kain around Soul Reaver: updated graphics, support for higher resolution screens than back then and finally gameplay that is obviously much smoother. Speaking of which, a new trailer has been released that introduces Raziel’s various abilities in more detail.

The main protagonist of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver has a lot of strings in his hands. Start with different spectral swords that deal different damage depending on your opponents’ weaknesses. He can also use magic such as an energy projectile or a shockwave. Outside of combat, he has various abilities that he can develop to very different levels. A cape to float in the air, the ability to cross certain surfaces or even swim, nothing stops him. This remaster of Legacy of Kain: Souls Reaver is therefore a nice homage to the original games and why not a way to attract a new audience to this license that has unfortunately been forgotten for too long. Verdict on December 10th on all platforms.
