The term "spiritual successor" has many entries. In fact, it's a double-edged term that not only enables new games to be built on the already established popular series, but also fills it with accessible (sometimes unavailable) expectations.

That was at least my initial fear of Bloodstained: Night's Sacrifice. It's almost a Castlevania game that made its debut on Kickstarter as one of the most famous and successful campaigns in crowdfunding, but every delay and every change seems to make the creator Igarashi Koji's dream fade away . Fans began to worry. Bloodstained: Is Ritual of the Night just another failure of Kickstarter?
Admittedly, it lacks a last-minute perfect polished coating, and Bloodstained is a delightful traditional 2D platformer game full of charm, sense of humor, and amazing attention to detail. Bloodstained offers rich campaigns, multiple endings, numerous missions and collectibles, and is a perfect blend of modern design and old-fashioned mechanics.
You play Miriam, a young woman who nodded and took a nap for ten years, unfortunately preventing her painful sacrifice. Waking up ten years later, she found all her shards, only one was her companion Shardbinders, and Gebel was killed. Although the crystals embedded in her skin (crystal) allowed her to take advantage of the demon-like power, Gebel seemed to absorb too much and became rogue, releasing hell in the process. Literally.
If you tend to fire with a full gun (or sword or whip, etc.), you may find that using defensive shards-perhaps shards that strengthen Miriam with a defensive shield. However, for those who prefer long-range tactics, you can fire bouncing water bombs at enemies, send shock waves to unstable enemies, or travel with sword-sold veterans who can fight alongside you.
Some are "perverted" shards that allow you to summon offensive or defensive support, while others can be used passively or directionally, such as the Flame Cannon or True Arrow. They are extraordinary devices that add excitement to the battle plan that has been completed.
However, the more she carried, the more Miriam would compromise herself, as power was tied to the crystal she had as a Shardbinder, weakening her humanity. As the power of the shard increases with each copy she carries, it is always difficult to decide on the best way to keep the shard and increase its power, or to make a transaction to keep Miriam safe.
There is also a healthy RPG menu system full of adjustable statistics, items, clothes, weapons and loot, which is dazzling and enough to induce frequent experiments. Every time Miriam's armor and accessories are modified, the changes are reflected on the screen, and Todd (a devil cursed as a hairdresser) can not only update her clothes, but also her hairstyle, skin tone, eye color, and more . .
Crafts can also be used, but overwhelming choices are not essential to your progress, so if all this seems too cumbersome, you can sell or trade your crafts and ingredients. Anyway, most of what you need should drop organically.
Sadly, it's not perfect. Bloodstained: Unfortunate typos and errors and strange audio glitches are scattered throughout the ritual at night. Sometimes, crazy screen movements also slow down, and there are no scripted fighting calls, which means you get tired of hearing the same sigh over and over again.
