Bandai Namco Online was established in 2009 as a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Entertainmentand has released titles such as Gundam Evolution and Blue Protocol. The first one has already been closed, and Blue Protocol will close the January 18, 2025.
According to the press release published by Bandai Namcothe subsidiary will be merged by absorption with the parent company, ensuring that its employees will be reintegrated into it.
The decision is related to the financial challenges that Bandai Namco Online has faced in recent years. Despite its focus on online games for PC, consoles and mobile, the company reported significant losses, with especially notable poor performance from Blue Protocol. This title represented a decrease in 26.3% in income of the company, a considerable blow given that the MMORPG was planned as a “high-budget” project to compete in an intensely contested market.
