Level-5 returned to the West in a big way earlier this year with the release of Megaton Musashi W: Wired. Eight months later, the mech fighter delivers a powerful new patch, and the 'Megarobo Batroseum' update is set to arrive on Switch on November 26.
As detailed in the new trailer (above), the main addition to this one is a new online PvP mode — aptly named 'Megarobo Batroseum' — where you'll pick a mechanic from a limited number of presets and jump right into battle. You can invite friends or jump into a room with other fighters based on your battle rule preferences. Nice.
Equally nice are the new Battle Royale and Team Battle modes for one-on-one duels or chaotic free-for-alls, new stat-boosting in-game items and a fresh 'Sengi' system — a unique ability for each unit that can be built during battle.
And that's it more not all. The 'Megarobo Batroseum' update also brings a new series of stages and pilots, the latter of which can be used in select story missions and online play, as well as the title's PvP mode.
All of these new additions are shown in the update trailer above, but you can also see the full list of newcomers at Megaton Musashi website if you want in writing.
We had a blast with Megaton Musashi W: Wired when it hit the Switch earlier this year. In our review, we described the game as “a strong return to form for Level 5, offering addictive mech-fighting action that feels like the sleepiest release of the year.”
