Final Fantasy XIV Mobile will take players back to the beginning of the popular MMO, but not the beginning that some of you may be seeking.
Earlier this week, after months of rumors that such a title was in development, Square Enix finally announced that Tencent-owned developer Lightspeed Studios (best known as PUBG Mobile) is developing a mobile version of Final Fantasy XIV . . When it was announced, we shared a few details like how many jobs would be available initially and that it would launch in China ahead of its global launch, but obviously the big question for many was where it would go from start? The hugely successful MMO has had five expansions, but new players certainly can't start at the end – thankfully, in a Q&A video posted yesterday hosted by producer Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida. has been clarified.

You'll start with A Realm Reborn whenever the mobile version launches. Yoshi-P explained: “Players already familiar with Final Fantasy XIV will be able to relive the story on mobile devices, while new players will have the opportunity to embark on a new adventure and experience the entire story in its entirety.” According to the producer, ” A lot of content and narrative has been developed,” and developer Lightspeed Studios plans to “release this content gradually and steadily. We may adjust the release schedule based on player feedback, and may accelerate the release speed.” Update the tempo or keep the tempo we started with (if that's what the players think is best). ”
One thing to note, though, is that A Realm Reborn isn't technically a start, as the infamous 1.0 version is now completely unplayable, although the story content is actually tied into the revamped MMO's main story. Some fans have been hoping that a World of Warcraft Classic situation might happen at some point so they could go back and play 1.0, and this mobile version is certainly a good opportunity. For now, it looks like those who do want it will just have to look back at old YouTube videos.
For those curious about the mobile version, the full video is worth a watch as it does go into detail on how to monetize, which doesn't sound that bad considering it will be free-to-play, but it's still It remains to be seen.
