UGREEN Nexode 100W and 130W, they can do it all

100W, 130W, Nexode, Ugreen

We tested the new Urgen Nexode external batteries, with capacities of 12,000 and 20,000 mAh and charging power of 100 and 130 W, with a unique on-screen information and power control system that will take care of your device's battery like no other.

Urgen has launched two new external batteries in the Nexode range, the 20,000 mAh 130 W model and the 12,000 mAh 100 W model, with fast charging for all your devices, including your laptop, USB-C and USB-A ports, and on-screen information which, in the case of the larger capacity model, gives you live information on the state of charge, its power even with time graphs.

Besides the differences in size and weight, the two power banks have a very similar design. Instead of the classic flat design, Ugreen opted for a brick-like design which I personally like, perhaps because it is different from the conventional. The quality of materials and finishes is of a good level, with a metallic finish on the plastics used. Anodized gray goes well with everything, especially Apple devices. Both batteries have screens on the frontbut they are different. While the small one is a black and white screen with translucent glass and only gives us digital information about the remaining battery, the larger one has a color screen with live information on the charging status (we will analyze it more in detail later). detail). On the side we have a single button that serves to reset the battery or interact with the screen that can offer us different types of information. The battery base is black with rubber feet to prevent it from sliding, and you can find the technical specifications of the model there.

The two batteries They have 13 protection systems: temperature, voltage, overload, power, current, short circuit and interruption. They are compatible with Apple's fast charging systems, notably iPhone and Mac, but also with other brands like Samsung, LG, Huawei, Redmi, Steam Deck… They are batteries for all our devices, no matter whether they support low or high power, because the battery will manage at all times the output power it has to offer depending on the device you have connected to it. Even the power offered will vary over time, being higher when the battery is more discharged and lower when it approaches its maximum charge. In addition, depending on the port we use, the power it offers us will be different:

  • USB-C 1: input port for recharging the battery itself with power up to 65W. Output port with powers up to 100 W.
  • USB-C output port 2 (130W model only) 30W.
  • USB-A: 22.5W output.

Output powers may vary if we use two or more ports simultaneously. So, if we use the three ports of the 130W battery at the same time, the maximum powers will be 100W +15W. These powers will also be maximum, because depending on the device we connect, the output power will be different, and not only that, depending on the charging moment, the output power will also vary. These Ugreen batteries are compatible with the most advanced charging protocols, such as Power Delivery 3.0. With these modern chargers you will have no problem using a 100W charger to charge your Apple Watch or AirPods, they will not “burn out” because you are using a higher powered charger, because the device and charger establish the output power it needs, and also variably over time.

In the video I use cables with which you know at all times the power reaching your device. With the 20,000 mAh 130 W battery, you don't even need it if you want to know what power comes out in real time. By pressing the side button, you can change the information on the screen, displaying a detailed graph of each port's volts and amps. This information may not be very useful for most users, personally I don't understand anything about voltage and amperage, but for the most demanding users, they would surely like to be able to know all these details. The screen of the other, smaller battery only gives us information about how much charge it has left, in addition to some fun graphics that appear randomly when you press the side button.

Editor's opinion

Two large capacity batteries with great output power to recharge any device you have at home, with a modern and attractive design and, in the case of the larger battery, a color screen with real information about the output power of each port. To this must be added a very attractive price which is now also reduced for Black Friday. The Nexode 20,000mAh battery is priced at $64.99 (link) (official price $99.99) and The 12,000 mAh model is priced at $49.99 (link) and you can apply a 25% off coupon.
