Oh man, what's going on now? Apparently there are serious problems with the Windows 11 update 24H2 in connection with some Ubisoft blockbusters.
Well, that's something different. As can be seen from a number of feedback online, there are apparently massive problems with the current Windows 11 version 24H2 with various games from Ubisoft, especially in the form of serious game crashes. This even goes so far that Microsoft is now apparently preventing the Windows update from being issued to PCs on which one of the games is installed.
“After installing Windows 11, version 24H2, some Ubisoft games may experience issues. These games may stop responding when launched, loaded, or during active play,” Microsoft wrote in a Help text about known issues of 24H2. “To protect Windows Update, we have introduced a compatibility limit for devices with these games installed. These devices are not offered installation of Windows 11, version 24H2 through the Windows Update release channel.”
The following Ubisoft games are affected:
There is already a hotfix for Star Wars Outlaws that at least fixes the crashes, but does not completely eliminate the problem. If 24H2 is already installed, we recommend rolling back to 23H2.
Microsoft and Ubisoft are now working together on the problem and will release more information once a solution has been found. Temporarily blocking the Windows update completely for computers running one of the games is at least an unusual measure. It is also unclear whether Microsoft or Ubisoft is responsible for the error.
