You May Have Missed This Among All the Exciting Content for Diablo 4 Season 7 – The PTR Starts Next Week, But Blizzard Do Bonuses are planned for Hateship owners.
This applies to Season 7, which begins in late January, as well as future seasons. However, assuming the developer isn't hiding any last-minute surprises, the upside is, well, not That A big deal in the grand scheme of things.

This trend actually started with Diablo 4's currently active season, Season of Hate Rising. Diablo 4 introduced the concept of Runewords at the start of the season, but the feature was (and still is) only available to players with hate containers.
Of course, the concept of runes isn't entirely new to Diablo. Like some things in Diablo 4, it's borrowed from Diablo 2. Runewords are insertable gems that need to meet certain conditions to trigger their effects. Many of the few skills currently present in the game allow other classes to activate certain skills that were unique to the previous class.
Now that the full content of Season 7 has been revealed, we know that more Runewords (and runes) will be introduced into the loot pool. Once again, they will be exclusive to the owner of the Hatred Container.
This is obviously no accident. In fact, Diablo boss Rod Fergusson told Polygon that the plan is to continue offering rewards of this nature to anyone who purchases the expansion. Ferguson didn't mention Runeword directly in the interview, so it's possible more rewards are coming, although I don't think Blizzard will want to widen the gap between owners and non-owners of the expansion.
Of course, the bigger reason people would want to buy Containers of Hate should be the actual content included in the expansion, such as the (currently meta-breaking) Spiritborn class, new explorable areas, the game's first raid, and of course all the content narrative content.
Blizzard will likely host one last live stream before Season 7 launches to clarify any remaining details, but don't expect too many secrets. The 2.1 PTR patch will include seasonal content for the first time.
