Nintendo's free mobile app, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, is closing shop 28 November 2024 at 15:00 BST / 7:00 PT / 10:00 ET. We knew the deadline was looming and told ourselves that if Pocket Camp Complete arrived on mobile next month, everything would be fine. And yet here we are, crying a little because of a new in-game event called the 'Thank-You Finale'.
You see, unlike other Nintendo apps, where the service ended with little to no fanfare, the Pocket Camp 'Thank-You Finale' is all about saying goodbye to the camp you've spent the last seven years building.
We will not go into the exact details of what the final brings (we have attached video of that from Kolma at the bottom of this article if you're not playing Pocket Camp yourself), but expect to take a trip down memory lane with your beloved villagers. There will be fireworks, there will be friends and, if you're anything like us, maybe even a tear will fall.
To access the 'Thank-You Finale', simply find 'Flower Card' in the Misc. section of your Tools page and give it to an animal in your camp or cabin. This will give you a 'Thank You Flower Stand', which you can display and interact with to start the message.
It's sad to say goodbye to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, sure, but this isn't really the end. Those looking to continue the mobile AC experience will be able to do so next month in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete. This paid application will be available on December 3 for the 'previously reduced price' of $9.99 / £8.99 until January 31, 2025, before resorting to the regular price of $19.99 / £17.99.
The upcoming paid version is the same old base game as its free copy with a few added bonuses, like new Leaf Tokens and a handy new Camper Cards feature. You can transfer all your Pocket Camp data to the new version and everything is included, so you don't have to worry about having to cough up more Bells down the line.
Until then, here's that 'Thank-You Finale' video we promised. Goodbye, Pocket Camp!
