The release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is getting closer and smaller details are still trickling through the internet. So what's new about what's probably the last blockbuster of the year?
The release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is eagerly awaited on December 9th. The new game from Wolfenstein makers MachineGames received a lot of praise in advance and we are all curious to see what the final game will look like. As the release approaches, a few final details are leaking out, currently from an interview between MinnMax and Creative Director Axel Torvenius.
Among other things, he claims that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the largest and longest game that MachoneGames has developed to date. Until now, this position was held by Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, which offered between 15 and 25 hours of playtime. So Indy's new adventure should keep you busy for more than 25 hours.
There is good news about the game's difficulty level. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle offers you the opportunity to regulate the difficulty for puzzles and fights/stealth separately. So if you're up for more tricky puzzles but want to take a more relaxed approach to the fights, you can do the same. Of course, it remains to be seen how difficult the fights really are in the end and how complex the puzzles are.
There is also some bad news: A photo mode is apparently not available for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, at least not at launch. Who knows, if you scream loud enough, maybe something will come of it.
Finally, Torvenius comments on the planned DLC The Order of Giants, albeit not in great detail. “What we can say about the DLC at the moment is that it will be a very narrative-driven, unique experience that fits very well with the main campaign,” said Torvenius. Not a lot, but at least something and it sounds like the expansion won't be a generic bit of stuff.
