At the beginning of the month NetherRealm and Warner Bros. Games launched the fourth character in Kombat Pack 2 of Mortal Kombat 1which introduced Ghostface to the franchise Scream to the game. Thanks to this release, and that of the other three characters Cyrax, Sektor and Noob Saibot, fans of Mortal Kombat 1 They predicted a promising future for the game. Since, they saw full support from Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm to Mortal Kombat 1. However, these may not be the plans of Warner Bros. Games, owners of the intellectual property.
Has Warner Bros. Games canceled development of Kombat Pack 3? Mortal Kombat 1?
According to reliable leaker FateUnknown, plans for future expansions of Mortal Kombat 1including a Kombat Pack 3 and a new story expansion, have been canceled due to the poor performance of the recent expansion, Khaos Reigns. This means we won't see any more DLC characters coming to Mortal Kombat 1. While Khaos Reigns DLC characters like Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot were well received, the expansion overall was criticized for its story and price. With this news, NetherRealm appears to be focusing its efforts on its next project, which has already been in development for several years. We hope that these are just rumors and that Mortal Kombat 1 It still has a couple of years of content and competitive scene left. Since, it would be very sad to see this game die before even turning three years old.

To be fair a lot of people did say MK1 Khaos reigns was overpriced including the players & review outlets. But it’s interesting to see the knock on effect of this.

In our review we rated it 8.5/10a grade very similar to the general average. Among what we disliked about the game is the grinding of the invasions mode and the poor story, but if we had reviewed it a few weeks later we would have found more things to complain about.
