Rumors indicate that Mortal Kombat 1 had plans to add a third additional character pack and a second story expansion, but it appears those plans are would be about to be canceled or already canceled according to what is revealed by a Reddit user with long-standing accurate leaks from the game from NetherRealm Studios.
The reason for the cancellation is related to low sales of Khaos Reignsthe last extension received by the title. Recall that the content included more story and several new characters which, unfortunately, did not satisfy fans.
