The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time contiene muchos hidden mysteries in its details, and that can often make it feel a bit like a horror game, given the typically disturbing nature of such mysteries.
Ocarina of Time features a seven-year time jump, during which Ganondorf causes destruction in Hyrule uncontrolled. With this in mind, it is not surprising that Link encounters some disturbing visions and stories. However, one of the most intriguing mysteries actually has an answer, it's just a little hard to find.
When Link gets the Master Sword from the pedestal in the Temple of Time, ends up sealed in the Sacred Realm for seven years. Because Ocarina of Time is a story told from Link's perspective, this leaves a gap in his knowledge of current events.

The mysteries about what happened during his time in the Holy Kingdom and how Hyrule has changed under Ganondorf's control can leave many lingering questions about the events that occurred during that time jump. What happened to some of the characters in Ocarina of Time? Let's talk about the boy from the Kakariko cemetery.
Who is the boy from the Kakariko town cemetery?
When Link is a child, he can find a young man wandering through the cemetery in Kakariko Village during the day. If you talk to the child, he will complain that he is too young for recurring Legend of Zelda character Dampé's nighttime graveyard tour.
He pretends to be Dampé during the day, but admits that he cannot provide the same exciting experience as Dampé with his youthful face. Link can also meet the graveyard boy's father, the guard who buys the Keaton mask for your son as part of the Happy Mask Shop side quest.
The Graveyard Boy is not present when adult Link returns.
Although Ganondorf is a memorable Zelda villain and caused a lot of chaos in Ocarina of Time's version of Hyrule, it's not exactly related to the graveyard boy's disappearance.
It is possible, however, that the disappearance was collateral damage from Ganondorf's actions in Hyrule, especially considering how Kakariko as a whole seems less affected by his reign than other places, such as Castle Town. This is because the disappearance of the boy is related to his fatherwho was a Hylian soldier.
It turns out that the mystery of the cemetery boy being nowhere to be seen when we play as adult Link already received an explanation in the Japanese magazine The 64Dream in 1999. The developers of Ocarina of Time responded that the boy left Kakariko village five years later of Link being sealed in the Sacred Realm to search for his father, who was missing at the time.
In fact, Link even sees the boy again, but as a Skull Kid. When he left, the cemetery boy eventually made it to the Lost Woods, but ended up being one of the victims of the forestgetting lost and becoming a Skull Kid. Since Link is an adult at the time, the Skull Kid attacks him instead of talking to him, because Skull Kids don't trust adults and don't talk to them. As a result, the fate of the graveyard boy is no longer one of Zelda's unsolved mysteries.
The real mystery is the missing people of Hyrule.
The disappearance of the boy from the cemetery is not a mystery, but why his father disappeared and why the boy was looking for him remain unsolved. The most likely explanation would be that the boy's father ended up being called in due to his occupation as a soldier when Ganondorf took control.
Because of that, he probably died trying to protect Hyrule, but no one informed the boy about this due to the chaos that had to be faced at the time. Although none of this is confirmed, it appears to be the most likely answer given the circumstances.
