Once again, Nintendo Switch Online allows subscribers to discover free gems that should appeal to nostalgic fans. What do we know?
Nintendo continues to delight retro gaming fans. This month, three new iconic Sega Mega Drive games are joining the Nintendo Switch Online collection. With these additions, add-on package subscribers can discover varied and iconic titles. A great opportunity to delve back into the golden age of video games.
Three games, three unique experiences on Nintendo Switch Online
Let's start with ToeJam & Earl: Panic on Funkotron on Nintendo Switch Online. This second installment in the series abandons the exploration style of the first game in favor of 2D platform gameplay. Here the alien heroes must save their planet Funkotron from invasion by invading humans. To capture them? Nothing beats jam jars! A crazy concept, a colorful universe and a crazy atmosphere that will appeal to fun seekers.
Let's talk about it next Vector man. In this action game there is a cleaning robot or “Orbot” who is responsible for stopping his fellow robots who have become hostile. His strength? A revolutionary animation for the time, featuring a character made up of several independent sprites. The result: incredibly fluid movements that are still impressive today.
Finally, mercenary immerses us in pure action. This top-down shooter is the sequel to the famous command from Capcom. The mission: free a president who is being held hostage in a fictional country. But the Mega Drive version offers a surprise: an original mode with a new story, new levels and five playable characters. A double dose of adventure!
A retro collection that keeps growing
With these three additions, the Mega Drive library now counts on Switch Online 47 games. For nostalgics it is a real treasure. And for new players, a chance to discover classics that made history. To access it you must be a subscriber to Nintendo Switch Online + additional package. This premium service also includes the Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance libraries.
