Am 10 July 2025 James Gunn's new Superman (David Corenswert) is supposed to fly onto screens in this country and really get the DCU going. The pressure on the strip is correspondingly high.
Fans are already eagerly awaiting the first trailer, but it is now causing the first difficulties: Warner Bros. is not happy with the teaser.
The trailer isn't good enough yet
The filmmaker reports on Platform X And Marcus (Streamline, In Extremis) that the first version was on the table of the film giant Warner Bros. weeks ago.
The studio is said to have been unhappy with the “pretty finished version” of the trailer and motioned to the editing team to “do better.”

Trailers are known to go through multiple editing processes, so news like this shouldn't really be a cause for alarm. Nevertheless, James Gunn would have liked a smoother start for his MCU competitor.
However, there is said to be enormous internal pressure in the production companybecause the flying Kryptonian's next solo adventure should be a success.
To ensure this, the studio is said to have requested several versions of the trailer in order to choose the best one.

There is currently even a series Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), but he is just starting his last adventure with season 4 of Superman & Lois
James Gunn gives the all-clear (a bit).
On Threads the 58-year-old director comments and confirms that there is some truth to the assumptions.
Well, sort of. But if he [Dan Marcus] “Studio” only means me. Because the only studio involved in the editing or having anything to do with the trailer is DC Studios, meaning me and Peter [Safran] (and I am the creative director).
It's exactly the same rigorous process I use when cutting each Guardian[-of-the-Galaxy-]-Trailers went through. I pushed the marketing people as hard as I could and cut and recut until I thought we had something worthy of the film itself.
Nevertheless, my instructions are [von Warner Bros.] much more specific than “do it better.”
So, according to Gunn, there's no need to worry. But we still have to be patient, because the trailer will probably be a long time coming.
What is Superman about?
The remake is about Superman's first experiences with his double life. In addition to his work as a superhero, the completely normal Clark Kent takes a job as a reporter at the Daily Planet.
Many well-known characters from the universe are returningsuch as Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) and Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo).
In his new adventure, Superman even gets a four-legged friend at his side – his dog Krypto.
Gunn was inspired by his own furry friend Ozu, whom he adopted during his writing process on the film's script. You can find out more about this in the article linked above.
