My adventures in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl have taken me to discover all the regions of The Zone. They are all usually quite dangerous, but there are some like the Swamps that take the cake. However, none are as cold and terrifying as the city of Pripyat.
You don't even have to enter the city to feel the chills of what happened during the well-known Chernobyl Accident. If you don't know anything about it, I invite you to take a look at the HBO series Chernobyl. The road leading to the iconic location features a reference to a real location known as the Bridge of Death.
The stories surrounding this location are not entirely conclusive. Some citizens of Pripyat are said to have watched the nuclear power plant fire from a bridge near the city, thus directly exposing themselves to radiation. In fact, the HBO series recreated this scene. It is said that everyone who witnessed the accident that day ended up dying, although several testimonies indicated that not everyone died. In any case, that bridge was renamed The Bridge of Death.

GSC Game World has not only limited itself to introducing the bridge in The Zone of STALKER 2, it has also added a small detail: the Geiger counter triggers as soon as we approach the bridge and remains that way throughout our passage through it. . It takes one second for the character's meter to fill and turn red. This is a reference to the radiation levels that many people endured while watching the fire from a distance.
