Koei Tecmo wants to expand
As part of an interview conducted by Automaton MediaKoei Tecmo recently announced in a meeting with its investors that it expects sustained growth in the console and PC video game market, especially thanks to the launch of new generations of consoles (PS5 Pro and Nintendo Switch 2).
However, the company is less optimistic about the growth potential of the mobile phone market. In order to respond to this development, Koei Tecmo plans to increase production of AAA titles and release major games much more regularly each year. To achieve these ambitions, the company plans to double its workforce 2,500 to 5,000 employees. This means that possible mobile phone games are completely ruled out.
Koei Tecmo uses this interview to demonstrate its desire to strengthen its position in the video game market and wants to offer players even richer and more varied experiences at all costs.
What games are behind Koei Tecmo?
On the other hand, although this company cannot appeal to everyone, the games it publishes/develops will appeal to many people. The Japanese company is the company behind many AAAs; They are the origin of the much-forgotten Rise of the Ronin, the much-appreciated Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the legendary Nioh, the honorable Fire Emblem or even the greatest musou series of all time, namely Dynasty Warriors.
2024 wasn't a great year for the Japanese company as Rise of the Ronin didn't have the desired impact and that Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake and the various Atelier games did not reach as many players as desired due to translation issues. Gold, The year 2025 threatens to be a lot better, especially thanks to Dynasty Warriors: Origins, a reboot that completely modernizes the genre and can undoubtedly reach a wider audience.
