The beginning of the year and the summer were two pretty hot times for Samsung. These two dates were chosen by the company to celebrate the Unpacked events and thus launch a huge battery of devices, such as the Galaxy S24, foldables or its new Galaxy Watch Ultra (among others). However, in this last phase of the year, what has gained the most weight for Samsung was your software.
In recent weeks, two operating systems have made most of the news: One UI 7 and One UI 6 Watch. The latter, based on Wear OS 5, has begun its deployment on certain older Samsung watches, such as the Watch4. Now, when it comes to One UI 7, we don't have any updates in progress yet. This is surprising, and even more so if we take into account that The Galaxy S24 just received a new patch.
A big update with performance improvements
The Galaxy S24s are now the spearhead of Samsung's phone lineup (courtesy of its foldables and the recently released Galaxy Z Fold SE). This means that these devices They are the first to receive any type of important updatewhich includes a November security patch that has been available for several weeks now.
This is precisely what is surprising about the new update, since it does not include the December security patch. The update, which corresponds to the build versions S921BXXU4AXK4, S926BXXU4AXK4 Yes S928BXXU4AXK4 (for the S24, S24+ and Ultra, respectively) has started its deployment throughout Europe and has already been available in Europe for a few hours.
The company hasn't released the official patch notes yet, but on our S24 we can see how much the same improves overall device stability and device security. It's also worth mentioning that, although it looks like a patch without many new features, it is considerable in size: it weighs in at over 560MB.
The “bitter” side of this update is undoubtedly that the same The One UI version of the Galaxy S24 does not changewhich is still One UI 6.1.1. The company is still working on starting the beta phase of One UI 7, a phase that takes some time but shouldn't take too long to start in selected territories.
To download this update, simply go to the “Settings” menu, scroll down where you will find the “Software update' and inside click on 'Download and install'.
