Lindsay Lohan's third Netflix moviethe second release this year, is out now and the romantic comedy's intro credits are making us melt.
Did you know that Lindsay Lohan is releasing a new Christmas romantic comedy on Netflix? It's true. The film is called Our little secret and is about Lindsay Lohan's character Avery, who meets her ex-boyfriend during a Christmas meeting with her new boyfriend's family and the two keep their past secret.
But who cares? You probably not. Instead, please take a look at the following:via Michael Collado on Twitter– the crazy opening credits of the new film, which tries to condense the last 10 years into about 90 seconds through some wild decisions.
Here are just a few of the events that the producers and makers of this film chose that they believe help quickly illustrate the passing of a decade.
2014 – ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
2015 – Gay marriage is legalized in the United States
2016 – Beyond Meat becomes increasingly popular
2018 – The Thai football team cave rescue
2020 – Bernie Sanders and his viral mittens
2022 – King Charles is crowned
You may notice a few Things missing from the opening credits. For example, while several Netflix shows are being dropped by name (brand synergy!), this is not the case with the massive pandemic that began in 2020.
It's also strange that this timeline starts with the ALS Bucket Challenge, as it feels like it happened 20 years ago and doesn't seem like an important moment in history to indicate that you're about to have one “This is what happened” in the last 10 years.” And what about the inclusion of Beyond Meat? Or the reference to the Cybertruck reveal? Are these really on the same level as a new king in England, the legalization of gay marriage or the burning of Notre Dame Cathedral?
But perhaps the best thing about this wild intro is that at the very end, recognizing that we're entering 2023/2024, we get an entry about Taylor Swift's hugely popular concert tour. Except, as highlighted on TwitterThe image used in the film is of Taylor Swift 2009 during their “Fearless” tour. Well, close enough.
