So you've got yourself a nice Nintendo Switch for Christmas and you don't even know how to start putting it on? You've come to the right place!
In this guide, we will break down all the things you need to do first to help you plan. That includes setting up a bunch of new accounts, adjusting settings and holding any important accessories to help get the most out of Change or Change your new Lite.
Create user profile
You should be prompted to do this as soon as you open your switch for the first time but we will cover the steps below:
- Choose an icon – this could be your favorite Mii or Nintendo character. Don't be afraid, you can change all of this over time.
- Choose a background color.
- Enter your nickname – this can be anything and you can change it later.
- Sign in to your Nintendo account to link it to a switch, or follow our instructions below if you don't have a Nintendo account yet.
Set up (and connect) your Nintendo Account
First things first, let's set up a Nintendo Account, which will allow you to buy some exciting digital games in your new Switch and get glitter rewards for doing so!
You can do this in Change itself, and edit the instructions below:
- Launch eShop by hitting the & # 39; A & # 39; s orange icon in the main menu of your Switch.
- Select & # 39; User Profile & # 39; to which you want to attach your Nintendo account.
- Hit & # 39; Create Account & # 39 ;.
- Hit & # 39; Send instructions for creating accounts via email & # 39 ;.
- Fill in your email address.
- Now, open the email you were supposed to receive on your laptop / phone / tablet.
- Follow the link in the email and hit & # 39; My Account & # 39; (unless, of course, you make a baby for yourself).
- Fill out your details and hit & # 39; Submit & # 39;
- You should receive a five digit code that you have been assigned to complete on your switch. If you have followed the instructions up to stage four well before, your Switch should request a code. Complete it and hit & # 39; OK & # 39;
- Choose how often you want to fill out your password and you're ready to go! You can now buy games on the Nintendo switchch at the Shop.
Buy a Change / Change Baby Lite? Then set parental controls
If you purchased a Nintendo Switch or Modify Lite for a toddler, you can set up parental controls to protect yourself from adult content and limit the time for switch play.
There are two different options: you can restrict certain features to the console itself or control their Switch directly from your smart device using the Nintendo switchch Parental Controls app. This lets you set playback time limits and limit features, and you'll receive activity alerts to help you follow their gaming schedule. Here's how to set it up in steps:
- Select & # 39; System Settings & # 39; on the home screen.
- Scroll down to & # 39; Parental Controls & # 39;
- Choose whether to use your Smart Smart or use the Console
- Select the restriction category. You can select an already configured setting, such as teens, pre-teen, or child, or set a custom setting completely.
- Finally, you can limit the software by age, ability of your child to post on social media accounts, and their ability to communicate with others.
- If you'd like to use the app, download it in the App Store or Google Play (it's called & # 39; Nintendo Change Parental Controls & # 39; so look for that).
- Grab it and sign in to your Nintendo account.
- You will receive a registration code, which you must complete in your Change. Repeat steps one to three and complete when prompted.
- Now just use the app to set parental controls. You can set a daily playback limit, use pre-programmed settings or limit custom settings, and monitor their activity using the app.
Find more games!
If you have a switch for Christmas, chances are you have a game or two about it – either included in the box or a nice addition to Santa. If the game is physical, you can cross it to the system through the window near the right of the program (the label faces you as you hold the program as normal).
How to use the digital download code in the Nintendo switchch eShop
If you have a digital game code, transfer to eShop and redeem the code there to download it.
Here is that step by step process:
- Select & # 39; Nintendo Shop & # 39; in the home menu (looks like an orange shopping bag) to open eShop.
- Select the account from which you want to tie the game.
- Hit the & # 39; Release Code & # 39; on the left of the screen.
- Fill in the game code, which should be 16 characters.
- Hit & # 39; Confirm & # 39 ;.
- That's all! Your game has been redeemed and you should be able to download it immediately.
Even if your game is physical, it may require additional data downloads. That could be a simple update, which could add new free content to the game or fix bugs, or it could be because all the details of the game are wrong on the cartridge. These are high profile game events like Doom, NBA 2K19, again L.A. Noire.
