You may recall that over a week ago, Nintendo announced that the NES version of Tetris would be coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on December 12th. As usual, the date actually referred to Japan's time zone, so December 12th in Japan would be late December 11th, or in the middle of the night for Western regions, depending on the time zone.
Well, Nintendo has made good on its promise, but this time it has a few bonus surprises. Tetris NES has been added to Nintendo Switch Online, as Nintendo has confirmed. However, Nintendo included another game. Tetris DX, released on the Game Boy Color in 1998, is also available. The Switch Online edition of both games also includes a special message from Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov as Nintendo continues to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Tetris.
