Anyone who knows Henry Cavill knows that the 41-year-old actor a huge fan of Warhammer 40K is. The former Witcher and Superman actor can now officially live out this passion in a series adaptation of the massive sci-fi universe.

The perfect starting point for Warhammer 40K as a series

After Amazon's planned adaptation was temporarily on the rocks, the project was only recently officially given the green light. And this news was also celebrated by Henry Cavill himself, who is involved in the film adaptation of Warhammer 40K in front of and behind the camera.

On Instagram Cavill shares a passionate message to reassure fans that Warhammer 40K is in good hands:

[…] I'm working with my incredible team, as well as the brilliant minds at Games Workshop, to painstakingly break down how we approach the enormity and splendor of Warhammer.

Together we wade through the sheer wealth of incredible characters and ponder ancient tomes and their texts. Our combined forces have brought us to a fantastic starting point from which to unleash our universe – those at the top of Amazon and Games Workshop also agree.

When exactly it will start remains a secret, at least for now. But keep an eye on the horizon – for more will reveal itself in due course.

As you can see, Cavill's update does not provide any concrete information. For example, it remains unclear when the Warhammer 40K TV series will start, who will be responsible for the project as showrunner, what the cast looks like and what the story is about.

But at least one thing is certain: Cavill's series project is only intended to be the beginning; Amazon and Games Workshop want to establish an entire Warhammer 40K universe on Prime Video.

By the way: Warhammer 40K isn't the only sci-fi project for Amazon involving Henry Cavill. The company is also working on a live-action adaptation of the anime classic Voltron, for which Cavill will be in front of the camera.

In addition, there is of course still the Highlander reboot from director Chad Stahelski (John Wick), which is scheduled to start a new franchise in 2026. So after his end as the Netflix Witcher and cinema Superman, Cavill won't run out of roles.
