Good news, Castlevania fans, a new trailer for Nocturne Season 2 has been released, and in addition to showing off some beautiful images, it also reveals a release date.

Back in September, Netflix offered a slightly vague January 2025 release window, and now that that window is almost here, the streaming service has been polite enough to offer up a new trailer that contains everything you really want to know about Want something, an exact date. Now you won't have to wait too long, as Castlevania: Nocturne will be released on Netflix on January 16th this year, just over a month away. You can check out the new trailer for season 2 below, and honestly, it looks really good – there's a lot of fun scenes and impressive animation sequences, and the trailer is only two minutes long, so you can assume there's more to come More to come.

According to Netflix, you'll be seeing many of the characters from season one again, “Richter (Edward Brummel), Maria (Pixie Davis), Annette (Tootho M. Bedou), Edward (Sidney James Harcourt) and Terra (Natasha Kinski),” who “become emotionally or physically overwhelmed after encountering an extremely complex cadre of vampires. There have been huge changes.” Netflix goes on to explain that in Season 2, “Richter and his team of vampire hunters, now joined by Alucard, are in a desperate race against time. Vampire Messiah Ozbeth Bathory appears to be invincible and is seeking the full power of the goddess Sekhmet so that she can plunge the world into endless darkness and terror.”

The first season airs in 2023 and takes place 300 years after the events of the original animated series, this time focusing on Richtor Belmont, a descendant of Trevor Belmont. Alucard's appearance at the end of season 2 was a great twist for fans of the animated adaptation, so I'm sure they'll be excited for what happens next. Netflix's description of the series reads: “As revolution sweeps France, Richter Belmont fights to defend his family legacy and stop the rise of a cruel, power-hungry vampire ruler.”
