Borderlands 4 releases new trailer with some gameplay, and we can see why Randy Pitchford is “freaking out, yo”

As Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said in a flurry of tweets, the latest trailer for Borderlands 4 was just released at the 2024 Game Awards.

Yes, after the first trailer at this year's Gamescom ONL told us it was all here to stay, our second look at it was teased by a bunch of Pitchford tweets that were perhaps a little premature, Maybe less mature. Classic.

As Pitchford suggested, some of the gameplay in the trailer will attempt to follow the lead of this summer's rather terrible Borderlands movie, which in addition to some pretty nifty graphics features a scary woman riding a With some spider-like legs on the back, and a horde of scary bastards, it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun to shoot.

Otherwise, it's pretty standard Borderlands fare: mutants, people hovering dangerously in low gravity, mutants, guns, and noise. If you can ignore the Randy Pitchford thing, it's all very exciting.

Boom, done. Watch on YouTube

In the above tweet, Pitchford wrote: “New Borderlands 4 trailer is in the works and it's awesome. The latest render blows my mind. I shouldn't talk about it right now but idgaf. I'm freaking out ,yo. He later added: “So… my phone blew up. I guess I shouldn't have shared the trailer. I'm not sorry. ….. If you don’t hear from me within a week, please call 911.”

Is this game's Game Awards cameo worth the all-caps typing, the hype, and the random Twitter back-and-forth (no pun intended) about Fringe that emerged in the replies to the first tweet? The answer may depend on whether you have a Claptrap or Handsome Jack tattoo on your inner thigh, but don't worry, let us know below.
