Big update for the Fritz!Box: These 2 routers are next in line

With Fritz!OS 8, AVM has released a major update for some Fritz!Boxes. Others, however, are still waiting for the update. Now AVM is indicating which 2 routers will receive it soon.

• With Fritz!OS 8 you get around 60 new features for your router.
• The update is currently available for 16 models.
• It could receive 2 more soon.

In September, AVM started the rollout of Fritz!OS 8.0. This brings with it around 60 innovations. So far, some but not all models scheduled for the update have received the update. According to AVM, it is currently available for the FRITZ!Box 5590, 5690 Pro, 5530 Fiber, 7590 AX, 7590, 7583, 7583 VDSL, 7530 AX, 7530, 7520, 7510, 6690, 6670, 6660, 6591 Cable and the FRITZ!Box 4040 available.

The models Fritz!Box 7690, Fritz!Box 4060, Fritz!Box 4050 as well as Fritz!Box 6850 5G and the Fritz!Box 6850 LTE will soon receive the update. A preview of the big update is already available for download in the form of a so-called Fritz!Labor version. Although this has the version number “7.90”, it already contains the new functions. This includes, among other things, the “Online Monitor” tool with which you can monitor the load on your network.

Fritz!Box 6850 5G and Fritz!Box 6850 LTE

Of the models mentioned, the Fritz!Box 6850 5G and the Fritz!Box 6850 LTE are likely to receive the update next. Because AVM has a new laboratory update for this with the note “Fine polishing and final optimizations are available today in the FRITZ! Laboratory for: Fritz!Box 6850 5G and the Fritz!Box 6850 LTE”.
