The legendary beat'em up Double Dragon is far from dead. A few months after announcing its return, the next official game announces its release date.
There are franchises that have barely survived over the centuries. Double Dragon has left its mark on an entire generation and Arc System Works intends to offer a second youth to one of the pioneers of beat 'em up. Jimmy (the Red) and Billy (the Blue) will return to duty to give some thugs a well-deserved beating with more contemporary gameplay. When this Double Dragon Revive confirmed its presence at The Game Awards 2024, all eyes were on the release date. There was no shortage of that.
Double Dragon Revive lets its fists do the talking at the Game Awards
The Lee brothers traveled to Los Angeles. Amid the big announcements and surprises, Arc System Works also slapped its community with Double Dragon Revive. An episode that relies entirely on nostalgia and modern gameplay and graphics, in the style of the studio's other productions, no insult to the makers of the original games, who already think it's as bad as anything else. The game had already been presented more discreetly throughout the year, but during the Game Awards 2024 and its unmissable aura, the developers announced its release date. Double Dragon Revive will be released on October 23, 2025 on PlayStation, Xbox and Steam consoles. Pre-orders are also possible in the various digital stores at a price of $34.99.
The trailer also highlights the various playable fighters, some bosses and enemies, and levels where you'll have to break some jaws. We also remind you that Double Dragon Revive will offer an online cooperative mode for the first time in the history of the license.
