The PC version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was announced at the Game Awards, followed shortly afterwards by information about PC features, system requirements and available editions.

On the night of Thursday to Friday, Square Enix nailed it at The Game Awards 2024 and officially announced the PC implementation of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This will officially be available from January 23, 2025, so pre-orders are already being accepted.

Shortly after this announcement and the corresponding trailer release, Square Enix released further information about the PC version. We went into more detail about PC-specific features that you can look forward to on this platform.

Specifically: The lighting has been adjusted on the PC and the general rendering of light has been significantly improved; Worlds and cutscenes were also updated accordingly. Thanks to NVIDIA DLSS support, there is also the option to improve the refresh rate and upscale the image quality. Variable refresh rates in the form of VRR are also supported.

As far as textures are concerned, the level of detail for background models and also MIP maps for background textures can be freely configured. This means that the polygon and texture density can be set higher than was previously possible on the console. Result: Visibly improved graphics.

If you want to make use of these features, you must of course also meet the system requirements accordingly. These have also already been confirmed and read as follows according to the graphic below:

Incidentally, controllers on the PC are also supported, even a connected PS5 DualSense controller. However, keyboard and mouse support have also been added as a control option. Compatibility with the Steam Deck is at least planned.

Finally, there is an overview of the different editions of the game for the PC. In addition to the Standard Edition, there is also a Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes a digital mini-soundtrack, a digital art book and digital DLC items including the Magic Pot Summoner Materia, the Life-Giving Necklace and the Orchid Bracelet.

You can also buy a twin pack consisting of the first remake part and Rebirth. You can play Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade now, and Rebirth directly upon release. This Twin Pack can also be purchased as a Digital Deluxe Edition. Early birders receive discounts of up to 30 percent on all editions via Steam and Epic Games Store and also benefit from the pre-order bonus Summoner Materia Mog Trio. This bonus also includes a Shinra and a Midgar Circlet accessory. All buyers of the PC version will also receive the Choco-Chic Summoner Materia, regardless of the time of purchase.
