At The Game Awards 2024, Geoff Keighley announced that we're getting a (not quite) sequel to Elden Ring, which will launch as a co-op game, allowing multiple players to take on the original game's bosses in a collaborative environment.

As the main title indicates, Eldon Ring Night Walk It will be distributed by Bandai Namco. It will launch in 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

If you look closely, you'll see multiple boss designs from the mainline Elden Ring game in the trailer, as well as some locations – at least! – Inspired by the area in the 2023 title. Does anyone want to say the term “asset flip”? Go ahead, I dare you.

Just a few weeks ago we heard FromSoft boss Hidetaki Miyazaki mention: “I think we will be able to show you a new FromSoftware”. Looks like the famous sadist wasn't just laughing at us, eh?

The developer apparently hasn't shown off any other content it's currently working on since the release of Elden Ring's only DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, earlier this year, but studio head Hidetaka Miyazaki recently spoke at Japan Asia 2024 took home the grand prize at the PlayStation Partner Awards, where he made some comments about the future of the studio. You can read these at the link above.

This at least confirms what he said about Elden Ring 2.

When asked about the Elden Ring IP, Miyazaki said: “We're not really thinking about developing projects like Elden Ring 2.” For those hoping for a sequel to one of the most revered games , which is obviously a shame, but Miyazaki did note that the IP is unlikely to be further developed “in some form in the future.”

Well, let's be surprised.

Tencent’s mobile version of Elden Ring is also reportedly in development. But who knows if that will come to pass, even if it's true.
