Multitasking, that is, being able to perform more than one action at a time, is critical to productivity. On our iPad we can use either divisive view or at slide over, two apps at the same time, however Did you know we can add a third one? Yes, we'll use three apps at the same time on our iPad.
One, two and three apps at a time
Before we get started, let's clarify a few concepts: Slide Over and Split View.
Slide over
Slide Over is where we have a "great" app that takes the rest of our screen and places one, smaller, more accessible. We can access this multitasking mode as shown below:
Split view
On the other hand, we have a divisive look. In this mode we have it two apps that, though shown in half their size, see them all at once. This method is very useful, especially when we need to spend more time interacting with both applications, unlike the previous mode intended for short interactions. We will enter this mode as we see below.
And your combination of both
Well, now that we've got two multitasking modes for our iPad it's clear we will add a third or, rather, a merger between the two previous. The GIF costs a thousand words:
And with this simple and little-known way we can run three apps at the same time on our iPad. Easy, right? Just drag our third app into the two locations in Split View.
Productivity, in the end, is not reduced by having thousands of apps open at the same time, however, with this simple way and our three apps on screen we can perform certain tasks comfortably.
