Due to the ongoing corona pandemic, many people cannot go outside and exit restrictions currently apply in Germany. Numerous video players are escaping into virtual realities to play titles like Minecraft, Animal crossing or GTA 5 to find a balance to the dreary everyday life of the current reality.
Various hackers, however, made a joke in GTA Online that was not well received by every player in the multiplayer mode of the Rockstar title: As Polygon reports, hackers declared themselves "corona police" and imposed one Curfew over other playersthat are enforced with the help of rockets and cheats.

The »Corona Police« from GTA Online
In the chat of a described online session, one of these hackers announced his intention on a public server as follows:
"Anyone who is not at home during this session is under attack: the Corona curfew has begun."
After his announcement, the hacker started to attack or attack all players who were out on the streets of Los Santos using the cheats to immobilize.
The author of the Polygon report went into the role-playing game of the GTA hacker and argued that he "had to deliver cocaine" and that it would be an "essential service" in the sense of the common good. The cheater then let him go.
However, other players found the role-playing game of this or other hackers not so funny and denounced them are quarantined in real life would and it would have made it “difficult enough”. They would not have needed this "crap" for their virtual pastime – mainly because this was played out on a public and not a dedicated role-playing server.
Why the Corona police are on patrol
Polygon, however, was reported that these cheating role players took into account the criticism of those affected: The complaint of a player would have been the hacker excuses and then stopped bothering him in GTA Online.
Polygon asked one of these hackers about their reasons for role-playing and cheating on public GTA servers. A player with the pseudonym Ren stated to be in isolation.
He would have been inspired by the current real-life circumstances "that affect everyone and everyone." Because of the virus, "everything is different at the moment" and that's why the hacker would have thought: "This is a game in which I can fly hover bikes and play Mario Kart in the sky … so yes, then I can also be the Corona police. Why not?«

It happens again and again that real life is reflected in video games – mostly intentional, but sometimes also unintentionally. Current examples of this would be that face masks are becoming a fashion trend in Corona Animal Crossing: New Horizons or the protests from Hong Kong were re-enacted in GTA Online.

Role play in GTA Online
By the way, role playing is not an innovation in GTA Online. Usually, however, this happens on dedicated roleplay servers and with the help of specially created mods. Here, participants must adhere to more or less strict rules so as not to destroy the immersion that all players maintain together.
In the course of this role-playing game, players then create their own characters, their identities, professions and behaviors and can thus, for example, the Occupation of police officers, firefighters, taxi drivers or driving instructors exercise in Los Santos.
If you are interested in a GTA role-playing game, you can pay a visit to the German roleplay community »StateV«. Otherwise, there are several hundred different role-playing communities worldwide, for which PCGamesN only created an overview in early 2020.
