At the last WWDC Apple introduced a new functionality that change the way we sign up for apps and services:Sign in with Apple. A system where new registrations and new logs are not visible, and that many applications are starting to run.
[Sign in] with Apple
Function of Sign in with Apple simplify account creation. As long as we have an app that supports this functionality easily we touch Sign in with Apple and we press Continue. So simple, it probably doesn't look like a record. Signing in if we already have an account is very easy, we simply touch the corresponding button and identify ourselves with a facial or ID ID. Apple managed to eliminate the "opt-in" part.
But the benefits don't end here, it's far from it. With this feature, at the time of signing up, if we don't want to share our email address, Apple creates a random one for us and transfers all the email it receives to our original address. This way we can get communications from the app or service without moving our email.
Many benefits? From respecting the privacy the tool provides us, to not needing to manage or remembering so many passwords, goes through it easy to delete account. According to the GDPR, removing an account should be easy, but the situation is quite different. With Sign in with Apple we simply remove the account from the app Justification, without any discussions, without the difficulty of finding options.
Availability and official dates
At WWDC last year, Apple announced that this new feature would be mandatory for all apps that already provide a third-party identification service such as Facebook, Twitter, or Google. The deadline for installation here is April 30. However, knowing about the situation that teams can build apps to go through, Apple has decided to extend it by June 30. However, many programs are already using this program and we can use it.
Needless to say, many apps and services offer an option Convert "regular" account to "account"Sign in with Apple". In some cases, like WordPress, we have to sign in with the same email we use for a "regular" account and it will change it. For others, the app offers us the option or tool to convert.
In a few months we will see this feature reach across applications already offering the same services, and today we have the range is well known:
