Gothic Remake: Will it really be released in 2025?

Gothic, released, Remake

German role players should be waiting like crazy for news about the remake of the first Gothic. But somehow the project seems to be in an eternal development cycle and a release is probably still a long way off. Or maybe not?

A new year has begun and the development studio Alkimia Interactive also used this happy occasion to send out New Year's greetings and talk about the Gothic remake. But before you jump for joy, there is still no concrete information about the release date.

However, the team is already hinting that 2025 could have a few things in store for us. The post says: “The year 2025 will be a real key year for us. We are working tirelessly to make the dream of returning to the Valley of Mines, which is so dear to many of you, come true. And on this path Your support is incredibly valuable to us.”

Somehow it sounds like there is at least a chance of Gothic Remake being released in the next twelve months. This also fits with an older annual report from the Embracer Group. According to this, the game should appear either in the second half of the 2024/25 financial year (ending on March 31, 2025) or in the 2025/26 financial year (ending on March 31, 2026).

PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and the PC still seem to be planned as release platforms. The Alkimia Interactive studio takes fan feedback very seriously. After the first teaser, the designs of the characters were massively improved because many of the long-time fans didn't like them. The team is currently on the right track, as Olaf was able to find out for himself in his preview of the Gothic remake.
