For a week now, more and more information about Resident Evil 8 has been gushing to the surface. And they paint an increasingly concrete picture of what we could expect in the next part of the series. A whistleblower on the blog Biohazardcast claims to have received further news. According to e-mails that the website could not verify, the subtitle of Resident Evil should be 8 VILLAGE and, like part 7, use the letters to highlight the Roman numeral VIII by means of color.

The game is expected to be released unexpectedly early. In the first quarter of 2021, by March next, it should be ready. That would fit Capcom's release schedule in recent years. This information overlaps with that of another insider, Dusk Golem, who believes that a reveal will take place very soon. Golem's sources say the protagonists of Resident Evil 8 are Ethan Winters (Part 7) and Chris Redfield. The ego perspective is to be used again.

According to Biohazardcast, Capcom is currently working on the game's inventory system, which is to combine elements from Resident Evil 4 and 7. An enemy, which has been mentioned several times, was mentioned again. This is "the witch" who always appears in front of Ethan and in behavior resembles Marguerite Baker from the predecessor. If enough damage is done to it, it should dissolve in a swarm of insects.

According to the leak, the setting is a title-giving village in Europe, in which hallucinations play a role, but not the most important. It should be made difficult for the player to differentiate between reality and imagination. That sounds a lot like early versions of Resident Evil 4. The topic of hallucinations was also addressed in Part 7.

It says all the information is coming to light now that Capcom recently ran a test run with some players.
