The Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming tomorrow!
Taking on a powerful organization like Shinra Electric Power Company will not be easy – even if there is a former SOLDIER for you. But don't worry – we're here to help. We've put together 7 (see what we did there?) Top tips to help you make the most of your trip to Midgar.

1. Use ATB as much as possible
The final Funk Fantasy VII Remote combat system revolves around ATB. As you fight, the two bars will complete the HP character spells. When one of these is full, you can use it in skill, spell or something.
A standard attack does not do much damage, but it fills the ATB rating faster to issue more orders. Switching between characters is always helpful, since the input will fill their rating again.
When you have ATB available, use it because these spells and skills are the best way to cause damage to enemies.
2. Remember that you can block
There are two basic defensive modes available from the beginning of Final Fantasy VII Remake: a block and a Doll-roll.
If you block, you will take reduced load from enemy attacks. Throwing back, on the other hand, can completely counteract the damage. With that in mind, you'll be forgiven for assuming that dodge-roll is always the best option. Not at all.
In some cases, time can be tricky – if the enemy attacks, you will be completely effective. Blocking this attack is extremely reliable and is often a safer strategy – especially when facing a fast enemy such as Shinra Shock Troopers.
Blocking has some useful effects. Some enemies have attacks that knock you off your feet, but blocking usually ignores this effect. While it will take less damage, it leaves you close enough to stop it too quickly.
Also worth noting is that if you block melee attacks while Cloud is in Punisher mode (activated by pressing a triangle), you will retaliate with a powerful force. This is good against certain enemies – like in the early Shock Troopers.
3. Heal in the midst of battles
Midgar denizens are dangerous – many can cause serious damage to your party. So make sure you enter the entire battle in tip-top shape.
You can heal in battle with magic or with objects, but this will cost you an ATB bar. That means if you can log in to Fay with your red HP, you can be uninstalled before you have the opportunity to issue a command.
Fortunately, you can use things and magic freely without battle, so be sure to take a few seconds to recover when you get a break from the action.
4. Take advantage of enemy weaknesses
Most enemies are weak in relation to certain things – if you hit them with one of these attacks, they will definitely hear you.
In the first half of the game, the good rule of thumb is that if the enemy is active, they may be weakened by electric attacks. Humans, on the other hand, are not like fire.
Past the first stages, things get more complicated. You will have to try different types of attacks to find out what works for what's available.
That said, you can get a little help. At some point in the adventure, you'll be able to find a Materia of Examination. Once you're armed, you'll be able to use it to get a detailed look at the various weaknesses of your enemies. It helps a lot!
5. Understand how to soften
If you really want to reign in battle, you have to learn how to stop enemies.
As you fight, an amazing gauge under your opponent's health meter will be filled. When this comes out, not only will your enemy not be able to attack you, all of your strikes will do much damage!
It's surprisingly powerful, so it's useful to understand the basics of how to fill that meter.
A good first step is to deal more damage to the enemy as soon as possible, so try to combine spells or skills for your team to download quickly. If you do more damage in a short period of time, your enemy may enter the & # 39; Pressured & # 39;
When pressed, the target bar for your target will fill up faster than usual, so use awesome build attacks such as Cloud & # 39; s Focused Thrust and Barret & # 39; s Fotuse Shot to get faster.
Of course, things aren't always that simple. Some enemies are easier to shake than others, so you'll have to try your ever-expanding options in battle to develop strategies that work for different combinations.
6. Take some time to explore Midgar
The Final Fantasy VII Remake points you normally to your current goal, but most of the time, there's no need to rush. Make sure you check it out and look around – not because the Midgar is surprisingly good, but because it's full of things to find.
From recycling materials, to recycled MP sheets, Mako shards, to music discs you can play in the jukebox … there are all kinds of great things hidden.
In addition, many of them will make your arrival easier, or help you in difficult situations, so it's worth going out of your way to roam the corners of the globe.
7. Try Ancient Mode
If you are not a big fan of action mechanics, or just want a speed change, you should try Classic Mode. You can use this in the System menu.
In this mode, the characters are moving, attacking and defending automatically, so you can focus entirely on giving them commands through the Command menu. Because you don't have to focus on general attacks and blocks, you have more time to think your whole strategy.
Remind yourself a bit of the menu-based version of the original Final Fantasy VII, so fans of that game will enjoy it too.
