Chinese Company Honor has announced its intention to go beyond smartphones, but it makes much more sense than you think.
If you've heard of honor, it's almost certainly because of a phone. Even before the company separated from the old parent company Huawei, they were its best known product, and it is undoubtedly even more true now.
On the surface, moving away from this strategy seems to be a big mistake, but there is a lot of method in apparent madness. As part of the new CEO James Li, Honor wants to transform a “smartphone manufacturer into a leading AI system ecosystem” in the coming years.
The smartphone remains, however, a fundamental part of its “alpha plan”. Indeed, the creation of “an intelligent phone that will revolutionize human interaction on the peripheral and will fill the ecosystem of AI with consumers” is the first major step.

But it is not the only material that plans to honor. On PCs, tablets, laptops and even more, the company says that it will “reconstruct” the user experience using AI. However, what it will be like the end user.
Above all, one of its most ecosystem features will not be exclusive to honor the devices. AI Connect, which Honor describes as “the first ecosystem file sharing technology in the world”, will suppose you supposedly transfer files and data between iOS and Android devices, a process that is not always simple.
Collaboration is also a large part of the Alpha plan. In addition to Apple and Google, Honor also works with Qualcomm to develop a large part of the underlying technology. Of course, you will already find the Snapdragon chipsets of Qualcomm in many honor devices.
What about here and now? Honor has also revealed three key features that arrive at existing devices. AI Deepfake Detection is added to the company's “latest flagship phones”, while the Magic 7 Pro obtains a new increase in the “AIAGE” AI for photos.
And, starting with the Magic 7 Pro, all flagship products and honor folders will receive seven years both from the two years of SO and the security updates, corresponding to the promises of Samsung and Google.
