Panel System Preferences It is an important place where we can change the functionality of our Mac. We can start by establishing the position of the external monitor until we activate or activate the firewall, by changing the appearance of the Doc. Also, there is a way to easily access different preferences by using the keyboard.
Optional key services (⌥)
Above the keyboard, on top of the numbers, we find the buttons we can pause for playback, go to the next or previous track, adjust the volume, screen brightness, keyboard brightness, etc. Each of these actions has a tendency to have associate the options panel.
Whether we have a Mac with or without TouchBar, the Option (allows) key allows us to easily access various preferences panels. How so? Just holding the Selection key pressed while playing keys. This is one of the most common combinations:
- Selection key + any volume button: Options panel The soundtab Departure.
- Selection key + up or down the light screen: Options panel Showtab Show.
- Selection key + up or down keyboard light key: Options panel Keyboardtab Keyboard.
In addition, if our Mac has a TouchBar, the "buttons" we can have in the bar are many and offer many options, such as:
- Selection key + Do not disturb: Options panel Don't interrupt.
- Siri + key: Options panel Confidentiality.
- Selection key + Quick Actions: Options panel Extensions.
Being able to access computer-specific options is, in many cases, a great comfort. For example connecting AirPods to a computer, with this action is as simple as Option + volume and we select AirPods from the panel.
Simple? Next time we have to access the options panel we will know that with the Option button we can do it comfortably and quickly.
